Money Machine

For Spencer's school fundraiser they sold cookie dough. Every student that sold 15 or more boxes got the prize of 10 seconds in the money machine. Spencer was the only one inPM Kindergarten that got to in.

He got $8
Since we have the hook ups at the school, Benson got to go in also. He didn't get to keep the money he caught though. Instead he got one starburst for every dollar he caught. He got 8 starburst.

California (part2)

Dennis the Menace Playground

Just a few blocks from Tiffany's house is a fun park.

There were a lot of activities for the kids to do.

There favorite was this long slide. It is made of hundreds of little tubes that role.
My favorite part was the train. This was also the scariest part because my kids have no fear. They were climbing all over this thing with out a care in the world.

Benson and I climbed to the very top to get our picture taken.

California (part 1)

When Tiffany moved to California, she made sure to let her nephews and niece know how wonderful it was there, and then told them to ask their parents everyday, "When are we going to visit Aunt Tiffy" Her evil plan worked. Kristen and her kids, me and my kids, and my Mom all went to visit Tiffany for the weekend.

It was a long 13 hour drive, and so we stuck Mema in the back to entertain the kids.
*insert evil grin here*
We made it to Monterey California very early on Friday morning. We had been there about 10 minutes, and some people came to the door and informed us of a tsunami warning. They explained that the evacuation was not mandatory, but told us places we could go if we wanted to. It was suggested that anyone with in 4 blocks of the coastline evacuate. We were 2 blocks away, so we decided to go inland for a few hours.

Everything turned out just fine, and a few hours later, we were back at the coastline to visit Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Measuring up against a baby whale. None of us even came close.
Plan 2. Stacking on top of Mom to see if we were tall enough. Tiffany came the closest, but we still weren't tall enough.

Itty Bitty Soccer

Today was Benson's first day of Itty-bitty Ball. He has been so excited to learn new sports with kids his own age.

About 5 min into the class he decided there were too many kids around, and he got scared. So I had to go around from station to station with him.

In the end, he had a lot of fun learning how to play soccer.

I Love You Day

As you all know, my husband works with Jewelry, That means I don't get to spend Valentines Day with him because he has to work.

Instead of being all depressed and saying "poor me", I decided to make it a fun Valentines for my other 2 sweethearts, Spencer and Benson. It turns out planing a fun dinner, is a lot easier (and cheaper) then planning a romantic dinner.
For dinner we had spiral noodles (because they are cooler then spaghetti noodles) , with love sauce ( aka spaghetti sauce). We had strawberries, tomatoes, and strawberry milk because they are all vday colors.

Benson helped me make these heart shaped biscuits.

For dessert we had fruit dipped in pink-chocolate.
The boys loved it, and so did I.

Cake Boss

Spencer and Benson love watching the show on TLC called Cake Boss. After they first watched the show, they started making their own cakes out of blocks. I thought it would be fun if they could decorate their own real cake.
They both had their own style. Spencer (top) did it slow a steady.
Benson (bottom) just squeezed the frosting bottle as hard as he could.

There cakes turned out interesting great.

but the most important thing is, they tasted great.

Emergency Preparedness

The project we have been doing, that has been getting my boys so dirty is;

Helping Bampa stucco

and build shelving

and paint the shelving
and finally fill those shelves up with food storage.

We now have a year supply of food for all of us at the house. Dad, Mom, Spencer, Benson and Bampa.

We hope to get more of everyday items. For now we used this website to calculate how much we need of the basics.

Tapeman?

I don't know the reason why Benson does this, but at least once a day I find some part of him all taped up. The most common is his face.
He has also done his feet.

Other things he has taped up that I didn't get pictures of are his hands, his wrists, and his belly.

Some New Projects

My sons are all about projects. Everything from painting to building. When we found out that Lowes and Home Depot offered wood building workshops, we knew it was for us. Here are a few of the things we have built.

We went with cousins to build train engines.

Spencer building a periscope for his fort.
Benson also built a periscope.

Spencer made a picture frame. ( He also drew a picture to put inside it.)
Benson made a tool box to keep all his tools in

A New Kind of Super Hero

Benson loves Superheros. He dresses up like them. He runs around the house acting like them. He even tries to hide and sneak up on people in his Superhero costumes, for a sneak attack.

Recently I heard him laughing in the back seat. I asked what was funny and he said. "Mom I am Peanut Butter Man" I turned around and saw that he was making a mask for himself out of peanut butter.
